AppFrod Photographer of the Year Themes and Current Standing

The Following Scores are provisional and need checking by all members

At AppFrod Camera Club we believe that regular participation and continued improvement are just as important as winning individual competitions.
For that reason, every competition contributes towards our annual Photographer of the Year award, and everyone who enters is awarded points towards the Photographer of the Year.
Points are awarded as follows
| Result | Points |
|---|---|
| 🥇 1st Place | 9 |
| 🥈 2nd Place | 7 |
| 🥉 3rd Place | 5 |
| All other entries | 3 |
Every photographer who enters receives 3 points, recognising their commitment to the club and encouraging members to take part throughout the year.
Why enter every month?
Even if your photograph doesn’t finish in the top three, you still receive points towards Photographer of the Year.
Regular entries also help you:
- Receive constructive feedback.
- Develop your photography over time.
- Try new ideas and techniques.
- Support varied and enjoyable competitions for everyone.
A simple example
Imagine a photographer enters five competitions:
- 1st place = 9 points
- Entered = 3 points
- 3rd place = 5 points
- Entered = 3 points
- 2nd place = 7 points
Total: 27 points
Another photographer wins one competition but only enters twice:
- 1st place = 9 points
- Entered = 3 points
Total: 12 points
This shows that consistent participation throughout the year is rewarded, while outstanding images are recognised with additional points.
